The sun may wake you,
But the day kicks you
Out of bed
Then in the butt
Right onto the tracks of that moving train
Called life.

Question is, though, are you going to drive
Or just go along for the ride?
It’s your day
Everyday
Wake up and smell it.

If You Love Something Set It Free
If it comes back it was meant to be
If it sits in your livingroom
Takes your things,
Uses your phone,
Eats your food,
Borrows your money,
And never appears to know that you actually set it free
In the first place…
Then you either married it
Or gave birth to it!!!

Love is forever
No money, no house, no ring
will give you the complete treasure
everyone needs to be fully happy.
Love is the only forever treasure
One will ever need.

Attitude

“The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude of life. Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness, or skill. It will make or break a company…a church…a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change the past. We cannot change the fact that people will act a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude. I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it. And so it is with you…we are in charge of our attitudes.”

This is the beginning of a new day. I have been given this day to use as I will. I can waste it. . . or use it for good, but what I do today is important, because I am exchanging a day of my life for it! When tomorrow comes, this day will be gone forever, leaving in its place something that I have traded for it. I want it to be gain and not loss; good and not evil; success and not failure; in order that I shall not regret the price that I have paid for it. I will try just for today for you never fail until you stop trying.

Ric Kausrud, 1997
Written shortly before his death after living with HIV for more than 20 years

I could not, at any age,
be content to take my place by the fireside
and simply look on.
Life was meant to be lived.
Curiosity must be kept alive.
One must never,
for whatever reason,
turn his back on life.

Eleanor Roosevelt

Thou shalt not be a victim.
Thou shalt not be a perpetrator.
Above all,
thou shalt not be a bystander.

If I can stop one heart from breaking,
I shall not live in vain.
If I can ease one life the aching,
Or cool one pain,
Or help one fainting robin
Unto his nest again,
I shall not live in vain.

Emily Dickinson

We shall never know all the good
that a simple smile can do.

Mother Teresa

A smile costs nothing but gives much.
It enriches those who receive without making poorer those who give.
It takes but a moment, but the memory of it sometimes lasts forever.
None is so rich or mighty that he cannot get along without it
and none is so poor that he cannot be made rich by it.
Yet a smile cannot be bought, begged, borrowed, or stolen
for it is something that is of no value to anyone until it is given away.
Some people are too tired to give you a smile.
Give them one of yours
as none needs a smile so much as he who has no more to give.

Doubt sees the obstacles
Faith sees the way
Doubt sees the darkest night
Faith sees the day
Doubt dreads to take a step
Faith soars on high.
Doubt questions "who believes"
Faith answers "I"
